Step by step
How to use Charu smudge sticks.
Set your intention before lighting — smudging works best when it's deliberate, not casual.
Place the stick in a ceramic incense stand that can safely catch ash. We have purpose-built holders in our incense stands collection.
Light the tip with a flame and let it burn for 15–20 seconds.
Gently blow out the flame — the stick should glow and produce a thin, steady trail of smoke.
Move through your space slowly, letting the smoke reach corners, doorways, and areas with heavy energy. For aura cleansing, wave the smoke gently around your body from feet to head.
Let it burn completely, or extinguish it in sand. Open a window afterward for 5–10 minutes to let the cleared energy out.
Pro tip — White Sage can be strong in enclosed spaces. Keep one window slightly open for the best balance of fragrance and airflow.
